The Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Engine Instruments and Crew Alerting System (EICAS) has shown good progress so far.  Although not completed yet, I've made some major progress over the last few month's lunch hours.  I though it was a good time to start designing the panel layout to see which components need to be developed or purchased.

Below is an image of what I am planning to do with the main panel.  The PFD contains a screenshot I made from the C# PFD I've spend the last few months on.  Same with the EICAS.  Although the Multi-function Display (MFD) on the left is not found in the real PC-9M, I've decided to add it. This will give me a lot more funtionality and flexibility in the sim.

The left MFD will used primarily for an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).  I've already purchased the FSX EFB from FSWidgets. Using the FSXEFB the following can be displayed:

  • Charts
  • Approach Charts
  • Checklists
  • Airplane Manual
  • About anything that is an image or PDF file.

And also in case of a PFD or EICAS failure, I can move the failed functionality to the left MFD.

The remaining GPS screen still needs to be developed using MS C# and GDI+.  Guess there is still a lot to develop before the Main panel avionics is complete.
